Our sense of smell is very powerful, one of the most powerful senses. It’s really crazy how we can completely forget about a memory and simply smelling something can immediately flood those memories back into our brains. For me, perfume and similar fragrance products carry some of the most strong memories for me.
I couldn’t tell you the name of the perfume my mother used when I was growing up, but I could identify it by smell to this day! There was a particular scent that she always wore when she would get dressed up to go out somewhere- and just catching a whiff of that scent even now makes me want to dress up and go out. For this reason, I frequently find myself purchasing fragrance as a gift- it’s not just giving the person an item but being part of a set of memories for another person.
One year, I asked my boyfriend to purchase me a perfume that he liked the scent of- it’s now my favorite to wear. Each time I put it on I think about him carefully selecting the perfect scent…well, if that’s what happened. He may have just picked up the first one on the shelf (he can be a bit clueless like that) but it’s still special either way to me. COTY Fragrance makes really awesome gift sets for even the most clueless of gifters- whether you want to carefully select a fragrance perfect for that special someone or you’re shopping last minute during the hectic holiday and just want a nice gift set that all matches, they make it really easy!
I decided to get my mom a fun COTY Fragrance and picked one up at Walgreens. They had several selections on an endcap in front of the skin health aisle. I chose the Katy Perry Killer Queen set- I think the bottle is super fun looking and I really personally like her fragrances.
