I’ve always been a big fan of bath products and recently have been getting more and more into the indie brand side of those as well, so I was super excited when Proper Polish contacted me recently about checking out some of her newest bath & body products!
Proper Polish Whipped Sugar Scrubs
I love sugar scrubs and had never tried a whipped sugar scrub, so this was intriguing! Proper Polish’s whipped sugar scrubas are described as a hand blended creamy soap base whipped up with coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil and avocado oil with organic turbinado and coconut sugars that will gently exfoliate your skin and moisturize it as well! This has a lot less sugar than most of the scrubs I’m used to using, so if you don’t have sensitive skin and don’t need harsh exfoliation, this would be great. The consistency is nice and thick and it feels like a really moisturizing soap.
They are safe to use all over your body but not on your face. In the shower (or after getting your hands wet if using on them), use 1-2 tbsp of product to massage into the skin and then rinse clean. Great for dry skin and exfoliation! (Just as an FYI, what I received to review was the 1 oz sample size that isn’t for sale, so what you purchase will be larger).
Currently available scents are Pink Sugar, Cherry Blossom and Galactic Grape which will retire when the new scents release. Every season will bring 3 new scents and the old ones will retire. Unscented and colorless also available. The new scents for summer I received to review are:
Lemon-Limeade – a super tart and deliciously fresh blend of lemon, lime, and verbena makes this a combination perfect for summer.
The smell on this one is absolutely citrusy but not overwhelming- love it!
Guava Punch – a sweet blend of guava, mango, and figs combines for a fruity delight that will satisfy your summer fruit cravings.
This smells awesome! Very fruity and made me want a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie for some reason, haha.
Tropical Cocktails – float away to the tropics with this blend of succulent island fruit nectars for the perfect treat on a summer day.
This one was easily my favorite. Super fresh and fruity and not at all overwhelming.
Proper Polish Whipped Sugar Scrubs | 2 oz or 4 oz jars | $4 or 6.50
Proper Polish Bath Fizzies
I was probably most excited for these as I looove bath fizzies/bombs and use them often. Her fizzies do contain glitter and are intended to be extra sparkly, so keep that in mind. I like and dislike this aspect of these particular bombs. For me, the larger hexes (which were in the big bombs but not the small ones) were too big and although I could get them out of my tub fairly easily, getting them off of my skin took a lot longer, they really like to cling! I did love the additional small glitter in the fizzie I tried already (the donut one), it’s gorgeous and iridescent. It’s small enough to not be a hassle but gives your skin with an amazingly beautiful sparkle! The bomb also made the water super silky and smooth, it was really nice.
(EDIT: The maker did inform me that she’s removing most of the larger glitter from upcoming batches so it should be mostly just the smaller glitters in the future.)
Her current stock of bombs is sold out, but did include Birthday Cake, Pear Lavender, Spring Bouquet, and Chocolate and Pumpkin Donuts. Just like the scrubs, every season will bring new scents. The scents for summer come in two forms:
Muffin Fizzies and Donut Fizzies
Filled with avocado, almond, and grape seed oils, they will leave your skin extra soft and super sparkly with all those glitters in there!
Blueberry Muffin – sweet smelling blueberry combines with the buttery, rich scent of muffins in this super sparkly bomb.
This smelled super buttery and nice and I love the cute blue glitter!
Key Lime Pie Muffin – tart limes and sweet coconuts combine deliciously with the “graham cracker” crust on these yummy bombs.
Unfortunately the top of this one crumbled off before I could get a photo of it! It’s been super hot & humid here and even my own homemade bath bombs have been struggling to not crumble so I’m guessing that was why. They still work the same even if they break, though. This smells so much like Key Lime Pie and made me want a slice!
White Chocolate Raspberry Donut – creamy white chocolate and sweet raspberries make this donut a sweet treat you will wanna eat (but don’t LOL) topped with a vegan soap base “frosting” and real sprinkles too!
This seriously smelled and looked good enough to eat! If you want a laugh, you can watch my boyfriend’s reaction to this bath fizzie.
Smaller Bombs
These are like bath bomb power shots. Though small, they pack a serious punch of moisture and sparkle. Filled with avocado, almond, and grape seed oils, it will leave your skin extra soft and super sparkly with all those glitters in there! (not recommend for use as mani bombs because of all the glitter. They really need a bath tub to spread out in for optimal results).
Primadonna Roses – shea and honey scented with Egyptian jasmine and rose oil
The jasmine and rose scent is super nice and I love how gorgeous the gold glitter looks on top of these!
Sparkly Hippy Rounds – patchouli and rose wood scented with a hint of fresh bamboo
Really wonderful and earthy scent, I really liked these ones, too.
Proper Polish Bath Fizzies | $5 full sized, smaller bombs are $2.50 individually or 2 for $4
Proper Polish Polish Remover
Unlike the fizzies and scrubs, the scents for the polish remover and cuticle oil will be constantly restocked. This remover is formulated to be acetone based but gentle on the skin. I really liked this! It reminded me of Zoya Remove + but slightly more moisturizing and with a better scent.
In addition to a colorless or unscented option, you can get this in the following scents:
Cucumber Mint – refreshing blend of cucumbers, fresh mint, and just a hint of honey will make you think you’re in a spa!
This is the one I received to review- I mostly smelled the cucumber scent but truth be told I didn’t try to smell this one too long as it didn’t seem safe to stick my nose in a polish remover bottle, haha! It left my hands smelling really nice and fresh.
Tropical Smoothie – pineapples, mangos, guava and creamy vanilla combine for the perfect summer scent that will make you crave an icey treat!
Sweet Brown Sugar – a rich delicious combination of brown sugar, buttery chestnuts and sweet almonds will make you wanna eat your fingers when you’re done removing your polish!
Proper Polish Remover | 2 oz or 8 oz | $3 or 7
Proper Polish Cuticle Oil
The Proper Polish cuticle oil is described as a proper blend of 10 essential oils that will moisturize your skin, soften your cuticles, and promote healthy and strong nail growth. The rollerball applicator moves really easy (some you have to push hard to get it to move, I’m not a fan of those) and the oil feels moisturizing but soaks in fairly quickly so you don’t have greasy hands.
In addition to an unscented option, you can get this in the following scents:
Cotton Candy – just like the classic carnival treat, so sweet it’ll give you a tooth ache 😉
Hibiscus Flower – delicate and floral, a perfect clean scent
Fruit Salad – a combination of pinapples, mangos and figs blend for a delicious fruity scent
Sex on the Beach – fruity, floral, seductive, this scent is ideal for summer! This will be a LIMITED TIME scent only, releasing in the 07/25 restock and it will be discontinued by 9/30.
This is the one I received for review- how cute is that smiley face sticker?! This smelled really sweet but not overwhelming at all.
Proper Polish Cuticle Oil | 4 ml or 15 ml | $5 or $12
Overall, I think these are all wonderful products and I would definitely recommend purchasing from this brand. These will all be released/restocked in her shop on 07/25, so set yourself a reminder if you’d like to head on over and buy yourself a little treat (or maybe a gift for a friend?).
What do you think of these products? Have you tried any indie bath & body yet? Let me know in the comments!
