I have a really cool collaboration box to show you today! The creative minds behind Northeast Nutmeg (who sells soy candles) and Vinyl It Up/Midwest Lacquers (who sells nail polish and vinyls) teamed up together on the Northeast Meets Midwest Box!
The Northeast Meets Midwest Box releases in the Midwest Lacquers shop tomorrow (July 17th) at 7 PM EST and will retail for $25 shipped anywhere in the US (and $35 shipped to Canada). All proceeds from the sale of this box will be donated to Resolve.org, which helps improve the lives of those living with Infertility. Here’s what’s included in each box-
Business Cards & Sparkly Confetti (too cute!)
The type of vinyls will vary from box to box but it’s a great amount of nail vinyls included- each box will have 4 full sheets! I can’t wait to use these in the future.
Midwest Lacquers Top It Off 5-Free Top Coat
I really liked this top coat! 5-free is always a plus in my book (I still use a couple of 2-free top coats from time to time but it always makes me feel icky) and this worked really well. It dried quickly and had a consistency somewhere between the thickness of Seche Vite and the thinness (is that a word?) of Out The Door. I’ve used it on a few manis since receiving it (along with the matching base coat) and have gotten really good wear out of the polish I’ve worn!
Midwest Lacquers Sticky Fingers 5-Free Base Coat
Sticky base coats are made to act like double-stick tape, adhering to your nails and then also to your polish. This seems to work well although for me personally all base coats seem to get around the same wear time for me but everyone’s nails are different.
Midwest Lacquers Flakies On Fleek
The formula on this polish was great, not too thick or thin and sheer on the first coat but it built up with additional coats (I used three here along with the Top It Off top coat). The polish has a magical look to it with the delicate flakies, I love it! I also laughed at the name- remember this post? Just more proof that flakies are totally on fleek, haha!
Northeast Nutmeg Fleekin’ Weekend Soy Candle
I love everything about this candle, I don’t even know where to start! The name is hilarious. I am in love with the emojis on the label itself. The candle is a gorgeous mix of glittery purples and white (seriously the prettiest candle I’ve ever owned) and smells AMAZING! To me it smells like sweet bubblegum but it’s not overwhelming. Soy candles are also great because they burn clean. I’ve burnt this a couple of times and now the purple has started mixing with the white and it’s making a gorgeous pinkish glittery color on top.
Overall, this was a great first impression of both brands for me and I think it’s an amaaaazing deal for all that you get for $25 shipped. It would make a wonderful gift as well, and it’s for a good cause! Again, this’ll be available in the Vinyl It Up/Midwest Lacquers shop tomorrow, July 17th.
What do you think of the Northeast Meets Midwest box? Have you tried either of these brands before? Let me know in the comments!
