I recently showed you the very first Awesome Sauce Indie Box and I’m back today to share the second with you! The theme for this box is exotic destinations, which totally has me in the mood for vacation!
The Awesome Sauce Indie Box will consist of 5 makers each month- 4 are permanent (Ever After Polish, Anonymous Lacquer, Lavish Polish and Aurora Lacquers) and 1 spot will rotate each month (this month it’s Vapid Lacquer). Each box will include 1 polish from each maker along with a beauty product from one of the makers (which brand contributes this will rotate). The box will be offered both in full size ($50) and mini ($27) and will cost a flat $5 to ship anywhere in the US, $10 to Canada. The box will be available to preorder from the weekend of July 17th and will ship within 2-3 weeks. I used Out The Door top coat for the photos below. Let’s take a look!
Ever After Polish Waianapanapa is described as a black jelly holo with rainbow sun holo micro glitters. Inspired by the Waianapanapa State Park black sand Hawaiian beach. I used two coats but you could easily get away with one thick coat. The formula was a little thicker than I prefer but in line with other Ever After shades and easy enough to apply as long as you use thin coats. Each indie wrote a small introduction to their brand which I’ve included in italics below their polish. Definitely unique to my collection and incredibly gorgeous! I think this is my favorite polish of the box!
Ever After Polish is a collection of polishes designed by two friends using the inspiration of things they love! All polishes are designed and handmade using high quality “5 free” and cruelty free ingredients.
Anonymous Lacquer Best Belize is described as a deep marine blue jelly holo with blue to green shifting flakes. Inspired by the great blue “holo” (hole) in the oceans of Belize. Two coats. The formula was good, I would recommend thicker coats with this one, I usually do thin coats and I had a bit of patchiness on the first coat but the second thicker coat went on like a dream. Also, the name of this one cracks me up.
Taking my love of nail polish with the use of high quality ingredients to make vibrant beautiful limited edition polishes.
Lavish Polish Key To Paradise is described as a seafoam green jelly full of holo silver micro glitter, fine turquoise & silver glitters and small turquoise hex glitters. Inspired by Key West. Two coats. The formula was smooth, easy to apply and perfectly glitter dense. This is my second time trying Lavish Polish and I’ve been impressed both times by the formula!
Lavish Polish is a 5 free indie brand each batch is hand mixed with lots of love. I have always loved getting my nails done and in 2012 when I discovered indie polish I couldn’t help myself and I knew I had to start my own brand. I take inspiration from many things to create one of a kind polishes. With Lavish Polish I strive to provide the best quality bringing you the latest color trends and unique combinations.
Aurora Lacquers Endless Sunset is described as a peachy orange crelly filled with matte teal hex, holo teal hex and matte yellow dot glitters. Inspired by St. Thomas. Two coats. The formula was good, not too thick or thin and easy to apply. Peach isn’t the most flattering on my skintone but I think this would look amazing on darker skintones.
Aurora Lacquers is an artisan nail polish brand inspired by dreams and fantasies. May your inner fairy shine!
Vapid Lacquer Garotas De Ipanema is described as a neonish purple with warm tan copper shimmer and a kick of scattered holo. Inspired by Ipanema Beach. Two coats. The formula was good, not too thick or thin and went on easily. It does dry rubbery matte so top coat is a must. I had to color-edit the full hand swatch for color accuracy as close as I could get it but the macros are correct.
Vapid is about sarcasm, color, art and love. Not in the least bit about perfection, nor is it about being shallow, though we should all find beauty in ourselves. It’s become an outlet for badassery and friendship, one little sparkly glass bottle at a time.
Shimmering Body Cream by Vapid Lacquers
100% natural, all the way down to the natural, chemical free preservative. This is a goat milk lotion, meant as a body and hand cream, it’s super concentrated!
The Girl From Ipanem is a tropical, sun kissed treat! Coconut dances with mango and papaya to create this juicy, sweet and luscious scent that screams SUMMER and yearns for the waves! A copper shimmer will give a glow and a beachy feel. This is not a tint, but a shimmer. It’s lovely!
This feels really smooth and nice on the skin and sinks in very quickly without leaving a greasy feel. I’m actually not a big lotion user typically because I hate the greasy feeling so I may have to pick up more of this!!
Jojoba Cuticle Oil from Anonymous Lacquer
Packed with loads of essential oils. I would describe the scent as a strong fresh, sweet and lemony. I think the scent is very unique. However it is strong so beware if you are sensitive to scents.
This oil will soak in fast so you will not be feeling oil. I recommend using as much as possible. It will help keep your cuticles soft and your nails flexible. This will help keep nails from breaking.
I’ve used Anonymous Lacquer’s cuticle oils for awhile and really like it- it sinks in pretty quickly and jojoba does wonderful things for cuticles. The scent is lemony and strong but not at all overwhelming.
What do you think of this subscription box? What kind of beauty products would you like to see included in future boxes? Which of these polishes is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
