I’ve become a big fan of Butter London nail polishes and they’ve recently expanded into cosmetics as well. When I previously reviewed their Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon in Ladybird, I mentioned that I really liked it but wasn’t sure Ladybird was my color. Well, I was super pumped when a box full of different shades showed up on my doorstep!
As I mentioned in the last post- although my nails are always polished, I don’t often wear a lot of makeup. When I do, I like it to be easy to apply and touch up on the go and easy to just throw into my purse. These lip crayons definitely fit the bill there!
The formula is smooth and creamy and feels nice and moisturizing. Butter London bills these as a mix between a lipgloss and a lipstick and I think that’s accurate. The slimline container makes them super easy to apply and the built-in sharpener is really handy. The colors are VERY pigmented (which is awesome) and leave a slight stain behind even after they wear off.
From left to right on my arm (It’s hairy, I know. And of course my boyfriend has zero arm hair naturally. Grrr, genetics):
- Tea With The Queen (opaque, light nude creme)
- Teddy Boy (opaque, rosy creme)
- Ruby Murray (opaque, deep berry creme)
- Toff (opaque, red grape creme)
- Trout Pout (opaque, light coral creme)
- Disco Biscuit (opaque, bubblegum pink creme)
- Primrose Hill (opaque, tropical pink creme)
Overall, I am definitely going to use these a ton! My makeup goal for awhile has been to wear more lip products in general and not be too shy to experiment with doing so. These are so easy to use and look so awesome that I know they will help me in branching out in that way.
What do you think of these lip crayons? Have you tried any of them yet? Let me know in the comments!
