As you guys know if you’ve been following me for a bit, Aliquid Lacquer does monthly polish releases (dubbed the When In Rome collection) based on Roman holidays. I have this month’s release to share with you today- Aliquid Lacquer Vestalia!
Aliquid Lacquer Vestalia is described as a white with red, copper, bronze and gold flecks. I used three coats along with Out The Door top coat here. The formula was great, not too thick or thin. When I saw this in the bottle I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it but I actually really do- it’s so delicate and unique. Here’s some information from the maker about the inspiration behind the polish:
The festival of Vestalia in mid-June honored Vesta, the goddess of the hearth and home. She was one of the most important goddesses in Rome, and the eternal flame in her temple represented the life force of the city and the bond between humans and the gods. Vesta’s temple also contained some of the city’s sacred relics, as well as the wills of Roman senators. She was served by a group of priestesses who swore a thirty-year vow of chastity.
During Vestalia, the floor of the temple was ritually swept, and women were allowed into the inner sanctum to offer sacrifices and view the secret relics. At this time, the priestesses made a special mix of flour and salt that was used in all sacrifices throughout the year.
This polish will be released today in her shop if you’d like to pick it up for yourself- and make sure to check out the older shades from the collection while you’re there!
