I don’t often post about brand-new indies on this blog but was recently contacted by Karen of Lollipop Posse Lacquer and her professionalism was on par with a seasoned indie and convinced me to give her a shot. Although Lollipop Posse Lacquer itself is new to the indie scene, Karen has been a part of the community since the early days and finally made the jump into making polish herself- starting with the Dancing Girl collection!
The Lollipop Lacquer Dancing Girl Collection consists of eight total shades inspired by singer/songwriter Tori Amos. The collection will be released on Saturday, May 23rd in her shop. Too Many Stars, Not Enough Sky & Way To Go, Mr. Microphone will retail for $11 and everything else will be $9.50. I used Out The Door top coat for the below photos. Let’s take a look!
Lollipop Posse Lacquer Too Many Stars, Not Enough Sky is described as a highly pigmented, cobalt-blue linear holo with purple flecks of shimmer that give it a kick even in indoor lighting. Two coats. The formula was great, a touch on the thick side but still easy to apply. Super pretty and unique, I don’t think I have anything like it in my collection.
Lollipop Posse Lacquer Way To Go, Mr. Microphone is described as a royal purple, near-linear holo with a sexy gold shimmer that really adds to the complexity of the polish when viewed indoors. Three coats. The formula was wonderful, not too thick or thin. I’m so in love with the gold shimmer in this- gives it such a magical touch!
Lollipop Posse Lacquer Boys Can’t Be Men is described as a shockingly pink crelly with aqua shimmer and matte blue triangle, square, and hex glitters. Two coats. The formula was good, a bit on the thinner side for a crelly than I prefer but not to the point where it’s pooling in your cuticles or anything. This is really cute and very ’90’s’ to me.
Lollipop Posse Lacquer Space Cake High is described as a “Slimer” green neon crelly with bright blue flakies and points of holo shimmer. Three coats. The formula was great, it had a good consistency and while it went on a bit streaky on the first coat, it quickly evened out.
Lollipop Posse Lacquer Don’t Say Morning’s Come is described as a vibrant, almost neon sky blue with pink shimer and pinpricks of micro-fine holo light shining through. Three coats. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and went on smoothly.
Overall, I am definitely impressed for such a new brand- the quality and uniqueness of these shades definitely exceeded my expectations and it’s certainly one to keep an eye on in the future. I am also SO in love with the logo of this brand, it is entirely way too cute. Again, this collection will be released on May 23rd in her shop if you’d like to try the brand out for yourself.
Which of these colors is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
