Reverie Nail Lacquer has a tendency of sending out an unreleased polish early with special sale orders and when I saw the first polish from her spring collection, I had a feeling it was going to be something special. Once the whole thing landed on my doorstep, I knew I was right! I even had to make a quick little preview video on instagram because I was so excited!
The Reverie Nail Lacquer Spring 2015 collection consists of six mostly nontraditional spring shades and will be released in her shop on April 29th. I used Out The Door top coat for the photos below (along with a coat of Gelous for the glitters). Let’s take a look!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Barnacles is described as a squishy teal jelly, totally packed with bright hex and circle glitters, microglitter, and microflakies in red, blue, orange, and gold shades. Three coats. The formula was perfect, not too thick or thin and I didn’t have to fish for glitter. I love this one so much- the colors and name make me think of a pirate ship sunk near a coral reef!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Sunshowers is described as a pale blue-grey creme polish with subtle scattered holographic sparkle and gold shimmer. Three coats. The formula had a great consistency and was streaky on the first coat but evened out nicely. This is so delicate and princess-y!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Aubergine is described as a deep plum jelly full of gold shimmer, iridescence, and blue and purple shades of hex and dot glitter. Two coats. The formula was good, a touch on the thick side but still applied very smoothly as long as you didn’t get too much polish on the brush. This is in the same vein as Rosebud and Provence, so if you liked those you need this!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Lily Pads is described as a blue-green jelly polish glitterbomb filled with blue and orange iridescence, green, pink, blue, red glitter, and more. Three coats, sheer at first but builds up with the additional coats- you may need a fourth coat if you have longer nails but it’s so glitter dense that for me the glitter covers the VNL enough. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and perfectly glitter dense. I love the iridescence in this so much!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Honeycomb is described as a super sparkly rose-gold microglitter bomb. Two coats, you may need three if you have longer nails or a more visible VNL. The formula was great, thick in the good way that gives you perfect control over it as long as you don’t overload the brush with polish. This polish is absolutely incredible! Beyond sparkly in direct light and still lightly twinkling indoors. Definitely a contender for my year-end favorites list! I took a video of this on instagram to show how sparkly it is in the sun!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Nereids is described as a super shimmery, nearly metallic, duochrome-y blue-green-gold base with lots of gold and copper glitters and iridescence. Two coats. Michelle warned me that the formula of this one was a bit odd, she had trouble describing it as anything but weirdly velvety so I was afraid, haha! It is a little strange- when pulling the brush out it looked like it may be gloopy but as long as you don’t overload the brush with polish, it applies and spreads really smoothly and not in a thick way on the nail at all. I did have to fish for some of the large circles but that’s pretty typical. This one definitely looks best in indirect or low light- I think it’s really unique and cool, almost metallic but not quite.
Along with the spring collection, Michelle will also be releasing one LE polish that will only be available in limited quantities. Reverie Nail Lacquer Jamboree is a blurple jelly glitterbomb with a huge variety of glitter types. Two coats. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and I didn’t really have to fish for the larger glitters. It’s a little bit more purple than blue in person. Every dip of the brush brings out a different shaped glitter with this one, so that’s fun!
Overall, I am so happy that she did not go with traditional pastels and soft shades because truthfully, I get tired of them fairly quickly around this time of the year. Everything was really awesome but my personal picks would be Honeycomb, Barnacles, Sunshowers and Aubergine. Again, this collection releases on April 29th in her shop so make sure to set yourself a reminder if you’d like to grab some of these!
What do you think of this collection? Which of these polishes is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
