I’ve shown you a lot of the one and done batch releases from Serum No. 5 lately which are always fun, but today I have her newest collection to share with you- the SS15 Part One collection!
The Serum No. 5 SS15 Collection consists of five soft shade glow in the dark shimmers, a shimmer glow in the dark topper and a blue crelly. It will be available for preorder in her shop starting April 1st and will be generally released on May 1st at 12 PM PDT. I used Out The Door top coat for the below photos. Let’s take a look!
Serum No. 5 Guiding Light is described as an off white soft shade glow in the dark shimmer. Four coats. The formula was on these & the other shimmers were all similar- great, not too thick or thin and they all applied easily.
They go on a bit streaky on the first coat but evened out nicely with additional coats. A few of these probably could have used a fifth coat to be completely even in photos but looked fine in person. Also, if you don’t have as severely crappy ridged nails as me 3-4 would probably be fine.
Sorry for the weird macro on this one- I smudged my ring finger right after taking the full hand photos so I had to use my middle finger instead. Almost all of these macros gave me trouble in some way or another…rest assured they are gorgeous in person!
Serum No. 5 Moonlight is described as a light grey soft shade glow in the dark shimmer. Four coats.
Serum No. 5 Highlight is described as a brownish peach soft shade glow in the dark shimmer. Four coats. This was really subtle on me and I loved it.
Serum No. 5 Twilight is described as a light blue soft shade glow in the dark shimmer. Four coats.
Serum No. 5 Starlight is described as a pink soft shade glow in the dark shimmer. Four coats. I had a hard time capturing the glow of this one in photos- it was a nice purple in person!
Serum No. 5 Budding Lights is described as a shimmer glow in the dark topper that is a green version of Sky Lights. One coat over Zoya Ryan. The formula was wonderful, not too thick or thin and applied easily. Using more coats will yield a stronger glow but it was pretty strong even at one coat! This one was *so* pretty, I love it!
Serum No. 5 Something Blue is described as a pale blue crelly. This matches the other soft glitter crellies (Barely There, Mint To Be, Blushed And Flushed and Lilac It? I Love it!). Four coats. The formula was good, a bit sheer at first but builds easily.
Victoria also sent me one of her older soft glitter crellies, Serum No. 5 Lilac It? I Love It! which is described as a pale purple crelly. Four coats. The formula was great, very similar to something blue.
Overall, I think this is a solid collection and I am so happy to see these softer shades. I think they’d also look really lovely as layered stamping/used in pond manis. Again, this collection will be available for preorder on April 1st and releases on May 1st in her shop if you want to pick some of these shades up for yourself.
What do you think of this collection? Have you tried anything by this brand before? Let me know in the comments!
