I’ll be posting the full press release for the KBShimmer Spring 2015 collection shortly, but I couldn’t help but share swatches with you guys ASAP! I have had these done since mid-December and it’s been killing me not being able to share!
KBShimmer is one of my favorite indie brands, although I have to admit that spring is not my favorite season for polish- it lacks the brightness of summer, the vamp of fall and the iciness of winter. However, I do love softer shades in holo polishes, so those were what I was really drawn to in this collection! The collection releases in her shop on 02/06 and there are 12 shades total- I have 7 of those to share with you today.
As usual with the quality I’ve come to expect from this brand, I experienced no formula issues with any of these colors. I used KBShimmer Clearly On Top top coat for the below photos. Let’s get started!
KBShimmer Meow Or Never is described as a pale gray, almost white in color with pops of purple, gray, periwinkle and sky blue and is inspired by the Pantone spring 2015 color Glacier Gray. Two coats. (Also, I re-did the macros in this post a couple weeks after I had swatched them all, so that’s why the glitters are in different locations! I also may have rushed the application of this one & Funky Cold Patina in the re-done macros, so my top coat layer dragged a bit, oops!)
KBShimmer Funky Cold Patina is described as a cool turquoise green base with pops of metallic copper, blue and purple. Two coats. This one is really cute! I wish it were maybe a touch less opaque so more of the glitter from the first coat showed through, though! Still pretty as-is, though. This looks a bit more blue in my swatch photos than it is in person, the bottle shot macro is the closest to how it looks in real life.
KBShimmer Wind Swarm is described as a pale sky blue base with a mix of purple, gold, white and pink glitters and a hint of micro glitter and is based on the spring 2015 Pantone color Aquamarine. Two coats.
KBShimmer Blush Money is described as a peachy rose colored linear holographic polish that shows off gold shimmer indoors and is based on the 2015 Pantone Color Strawberry Ice. Two coats with NO cleanup, it was so easy to apply. This one is easily a favorite of 2015 for me, I know already!
KBShimmer Ins And Sprouts is described as a pale green citron colored polish that is alive with linear holographic shine. Two coats. Unfortunately the sun went down before I could get a shot of this one, but it’s super holo, trust me!
KBShimmer Blue-d Lines is described as a pale cool toned blue polish that shines with linear holographic sparkle. Two coats. This is really neat, metallic-y but without brushstrokes. When you apply it it appears that it will be brushstroke-y but they practically disappear as it dries. Magic!
KBShimmer Thistle Be The Day is described as a pale pinkish purple that shines in the sun with a linear holographic rainbow. Two coats. I also had no sun for this swatch, booo. Very holo, though! This is a touch of a warmer purple than in my photos- closest in real life to the bottle shot macro.
Overall, I really love the colors that I picked out to review (the others look pretty but too spring-colored for my taste, I know I’m weird!!) and was especially surprised by how much I loved the holo shades since usually it’s her crellies/jellies that I love.
Again, the collection releases in her shop on 02/06 although you don’t have to be there right at release to be able to score these, she’s great about keeping stock levels up!
