Barielle is a brand I’ve shown you a few times who make a lot of really nice quality polishes and (I feel) deserve more attention than they get. Today I have their 5-piece Spring 2015 collection to share with you- the Barielle Gentle Breeze collection!
Barielle Heaven Sent is described as a soft, creamy aquamarine. I used three coats along with Out The Door. The formula was pretty good for a light blue, a little streaky on the first coat but it evened out by the third coat. I tend to do thin coats, you could probably get away with two thicker ones. This is a really pretty shade of blue, perfect for spring!
Barielle Champagne Bubbles is described as a creamy tangerine. I used four coats along with Out The Door. The formula was okay, it was a bit on the thin side and streaky and by four coats if it hasn’t evened out, I’m not willing to go for a fifth. This almost felt like more of a jelly and less of a cream to me. I’ve seen other people say they did two coats with no issues so maybe I just got a bad bottle of this or their coats are thicker (I do use pretty thin coats typically) or something but that was not my experience at all!
Barielle Pink Parasol is described as a creamy strawberry ice. I used four coats along with Out The Door. The formula was very similar to Champagne Bubbles (it was streakier in person than in the photos), which was a bummer because it’s a really pretty color.
Barielle Gray Sky is described as a rich, creamy glacier gray. I used two coats along with Out The Door, and it does dry satin so top coat is a must. The formula had a great consistency and applied easily but did leave some minor brushstrokes. Can’t say this one was my favorite but I think some people will love it.
Barielle Under The Sea is described as a rich, sea scuba blue shimmer. I used three coats along with Out The Door, and like Gray Sky, top coat is a must. The formula was good, a little sheer at first but it built up easily and had a nice consistency.
Overall, this collection was a bit of a miss for me besides Under The Sea & Heaven Sent, which I will definitely be re-wearing. I’m still a big fan of Barielle in general and usually their formulas are some of the best I’ve ever used, so I have high hopes that their next collection will be a lot better. Still, these may work for some!
What do you think of this collection? Have you tried this brand out yet? Let me know in the comments!
