It’s been awhile since I’ve done an updated room tour/stash post (you can check out my last ones from my old house here, here and here) and I’d recently gotten some requests on instagram to take a peek inside my helmers.
I received a second helmer for christmas so I figured now was a great time to do an updated post, particularly as I realized I never have for my room where I’m living now (other than on youtube)! I still have an overflow box of polish from when my first helmer was bursting at the seams to go through and add in to the helmers but everything else is as it will be for awhile.
Coming up the stairs, first you must answer the sphinx’s riddle. Or get past Cerberus. Slip by the security guard. This is Mugen’s favorite hang out spot!
To your right you can see how I hang my necklaces and larger earrings. The black shelf holds my other earrings, bracelets, perfumes, random trinkets, etc. And of course I have to have a Chow Chow Calendar every year!
My futon which never gets used. I used to sometimes sit here while editing photos and watch TV but ever since I got a recliner downstairs I use that more often, haha.
View of the left side of the room. Hi, Helmers! We’ll look inside you later.
My TV, pop figurines, printer, bookshelves, etc. I really need to buy some bookends but I’m cheap.
On top of my helmers is kind of a variety of things. My swatch sticks (which I don’t add to anymore but didn’t want to just throw out the ones that I had), some Zoya stuff, my fairy dust this shit button from my blogging buddy, my dragon egg, pirate ship, candles and chubby dragon from the Philippines.
My desk! The chair is kind of beat up but super comfy. I used to have an older one but they got new chairs at my boyfriend’s work and he got to bring one of the old ones home.
My computer! That card was from my boyfriend, it’s really cute- the inside reads “we’re dangerous together….I like that.”, haha!
I usually keep a variety of stuff I use frequently right next to my computer. I usually have at least one cuticle oil and one cuticle balm here (although right now I also have the Lemony Flutter I received for Christmas and a balm prototype from an indie that I’m testing out) as well as a lip balm.
Picture frames and controls. AND ACTUALLY, this has already changed since I set up this post, whoops. I got a Nail Polish Desk Rack recently to keep track of stuff that needs to get swatched since I can only do swatches during the weekend now that I’ll be back at work for the season. Here’s what it looked like the day I set it up with my top and base coats hanging out there:
Coconut oil and nail things I need to be able to get to quickly like my glass file, cleanup brush, etc.
Backups! Left is all my backup lip products and the right is all my cuticle products! I try to keep them separated in there so I don’t have a ton of half-used products lying around everywhere.
Base and top coats, acetone/polish remover and my lighting (which gets moved around and set up with my background before I start swatching). Also wheat thins ’cause a girl’s gotta keep her blood sugar up during swatchathons, lol.
Below my desk are my melmers. These currently hold my makeup, some overflow polish that I need to sort through and get back into my helmers, nail art supplies, stamping stuff, etc.
Helmer drawer time! For now I’ve got the one on the left set up as indies and the right as commercial. First drawer on the left is my KBShimmer drawer.
Round indie brands that I have a lot of. I think this drawer is just Reverie Nail Lacquer, Ellagee and Aliquid Lacquer.
Misc. round bottled indies.
Various square bottle indies.
More square indies and unique bottle shapes.
Onto the next helmer! Here’s the first Zoya drawer.
Second Zoya drawer.
Various commercial brands- Barielle, Sally Hansen, etc.
The last drawer is empty and ready for more, muahahaha!
Hopefully you enjoyed seeing how I organize my nail things and whatnot- let me know in the comments if you like this kind of post & if there’s any other types of posts you’d like to see in the future!
