I’ve talked to you guys a couple times about our local meetup group before- we get together every month or so and it’s always a lot of fun! We recently got together again and I wanted to show you the nails I did for our theme- blue!
Literary Lacquers makes some of my favorite holo polishes, including two of my favorite blues, so I decided to combine them in a gradient! This gradient also highlighted the challenges of photographing green-leaning blues- in the picture, you can barely tell it’s a gradient. 🙁 Usually if a swatch is off I can try to color correct it but I can’t with a gradient, bah. I promise you it looked much different in person!
I began with a coat of the Ellagee Lickity-Split Latex Mani Mask to make cleanup easier since the microglitters are typically such a pain to clean up. I then applied three coats of my shade from the Literary Lacquers Community Collection, Always Winter Never Christmas. Once that was dry, I used Literary Lacquers Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to create a sponge gradient with AWNC. I finished everything up with a coat of Out The Door. You can also watch a short video tutorial of me doing this on instagram. It was super sparkly in the sun!
Here’s all of our blue manis together:
What do you think of the design that I created? Do you have any local nail friends? Let me know in the comments!
