A little while ago I showed you (+ unboxed) the very first Beauty Quartet Box, a new subscription box of both polish and fun beauty items. I’m excited to be back today to show you the Winter box! (Want to see it unboxed? Check out my video here.) For those who missed the last post, here are the general details:
What’s included: 4 polishes (one from each brand) along with 4 beauty extras (again, one from each brand)
What kind of extras: Anything from matching accessories to handmade personal care products (cuticle oil, lotions, lip balms, etc), nail art tools, candles, etc.

Timeline: Preorders will begin on the 1st of the month and run through the 15th (so for this box, Nov 1-15th) and the box will ship on the 1st of the next month (so for this box, Dec. 1st).
Pricing (includes shipping): $50 US + $55 Canada + $60 international
The packaging was really fun! Just like last month, the packaging itself matched the theme of the box, including silver tinsel, white crinkle paper and some really pretty white tissue paper with gold stars.
Philly Loves Lacquer Midwinter’s Midnight is described as a dark blue linear holo with a lighter blue flash, blue and silver micro shimmer, and silver holo micro glitter. I used three coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was good, not too thick or thin and a little patchy on the first coat but evened out nicely after that. This is so gorgeous!
Digital Nails Special Snowflake was described to me as a silvery white microflakie polish with flashes of red and green. I used four coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was great, no complaints there. This one leans just a bit frosty on it’s own for my personal taste but it’s still pretty!
After I’d already swatched it (+ subsequently chopped my nails down to nubs) I was told that this can also be worn as a topper! So, I wanted to show you one coat over Zoya Robyn (left) and Zoya Pinta (right):
Northern Star Polish Reindeer Games is described as a dark brown linear holo with flashes of green and purple. I used two coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and went on easily. I really loved this one!
|I could not get a color-accurate bottle shot! The swatch photos are more color accurate.|
Smokey Mountain Lacquers Ho…Ho…No! is described as an antique red scattered holo. I used two coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and applied easily. It is just the slightest bit brushstroke-y, but the holo makes that not really super noticeable, just take care when applying.
|Again, the swatch photos are more color-accurate.|
Philly Loves Lacquer– Gingerbread Brulée Whipped Body Schmear – a scented, moisturizing, paraben-free body lotion that smells delicious enough to eat – but don’t eat it!
This really DOES smell good enough to eat! The consistency is really nice and luxurious, and the schmear is very moisturizing.
Digital Nails– One-Minute Anti-Aging Sweet Citrus Scrub – a luxurious sugar scrub made with sea buckthorn oil, which has anti-aging and skin-tightening properties
I love sugar scrubs so I knew I was going to love this one! It smells absolutely fantastic and is really nice to use. Be careful when you open it as the oil & sugar in mine separated a bit during shipping (but during December when these ship that probably won’t be as much of an issue since it’ll be colder). You can just shake it back up and pop it in the fridge for a couple of hours before use if that happens to yours, it doesn’t affect how the product works. I’m used to more firm sugar scrubs but I really like this kind now, too, it feels even more moisturizing!
Northern Star Polish– Gingerbread Brulée Nourishing Cuticle Oil – a nourishing cuticle oil, scented to match PhLL’s body schmear
The smell definitely matches! Northern Star Polish’s cuticle oils are nicely moisturizing and come in a convenient roller ball applicator.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers– Ho…Ho…No! Pendant Necklace – a gorgeous cabochon pendant made using SML’s December BQB polish. Comes on an adjustable cord chain
This is a fun idea, I love polish jewelry! Who doesn’t want to match their polish to their jewelry?
Overall, another fun box that I feel is well worth the cost for what you get. I think the polishes are gorgeous and I feel that the extras this month are incredible, you’re making out like a bandit for $50 shipped, for sure.
Are you planning to order the box? Do you like the idea of including the beauty extras in with a nail polish sub box? Any extras you’re hoping to see in the future? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
