As you guys know, Aliquid Lacquer is one of my very favorite brands. Alison and I became friends while she was still just blogging and in the early stages of brand planning and I was fortunate enough to be able to review each of her collections as they’ve been released over this past year. I’ve watched her brand grow and and improve with each set of polishes, and I’m so excited that as of yesterday Aliquid Lacquer has reached it’s one year anniversary!
To celebrate, in addition to a week of sales, giveaways and contests, she is also releasing some polish to mark the occasion! The Aliquid Lacquer Anniversary Trio consists of three shades- Dogged, Artsy and Gregarious. Each shade represents to Alison some struggles she’s faced as a new indie brand & qualities she wants to foster in herself, I’ll include those details in italics under each polish. Let’s take a look!
Aliquid Lacquer Dogged is a brown scattered holographic polish with coppery red flecks and a blue sheen. I used two coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was wonderful, not too thick but enough that you don’t have to worry about pooling and easy to control. I really love the flakes in this, keeps it interesting!
Being a new indie can be discouraging, especially if you compare yourself to older, more successful brands. In the next year, I will keep believing in my own talents!
Aliquid Lacquer Artsy is a coral crelly with various shades of turquoise, yellow, purple and grey matte hexes. I used three coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and went on easily.
It can be tough sometimes to stay creative when inventing new polish shades. In the next year, I want to broaden my horizons and approach polish making from a fresh perspective!
Aliquid Lacquer Gregarious is a lime green jelly filled with holographic and iridescent green, yellow and gold glitter in multiple shapes and sizes, plus magenta flecks. I used three coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was again great, not too thick or thin but applied easily and was nicely glitter dense. I fell in love with this shade immediately, it is so incredibly sparkly! I really felt like my nails were made of jewels while wearing this.
Running any business requires one skill I’m not great at: talking to people! I have had to leave my comfort zone many times this year. In the next year, I promise to stay open and approachable to customers and the nail community at large!
As with most collections, Aliquid Lacquer is also putting out a new scent for her cuticle balm, which I’m a huge fan of! It is so soft and creamy and moisturizing on the lips, I love it.
I received the new Champagne Frosting lip balm and it smells wonderful! Sweet, but not overly so.
Dry, floral grape meets sweet vanilla frosting for a decidedly classy celebration!
Overall, this is another wonderful set of polishes from a great brand who I can highly recommend! I really feel that she puts out some of the most unique and high-quality shades on the market right now and if you haven’t tried Aliquid Lacquer out yet, this is a great time to do so!
To further celebrate her anniversary week, she’ll be running a few different specials, here’s the details from Aliquid Lacquer:
