Many of you know that Indigo Bananas was my first ever indie brand. So, her polishes always hold a special place for me because of that and because I find that she consistently puts out some of the most unique products with awesome formulas. So I was really excited when she asked if I’d be interested in trying out any of her Halloween collection colors- um, YES!
The Indigo Bananas Halloween collection is inspired by the movie Young Frankenstein (er, Fronkonshteen) and consists of 12 polishes total- a trio of flakie-based polishes, a trio of silver flakie-based polishes, a trio of silver flakie-based fleck/chrome/holographic polishes and a trio of glow in the dark glass-fleck scattered holo polishes.
The collection is not limited edition and is available now in her shop (although the shop will not be shipping any orders from October 14th through October 27th as Andrea will be out of the country). I have six of the twelve shades to show you today. All had a great formula I’ve come to expect from this brand- not too thick or thin and easy to control. I used Out The Door top coat for these photos. Let’s take a look!
Indigo Bananas Perfect Night (For Mystery & Horror) is described as a purple polish with aqua/blue flakies and shimmer. Three coats. I made the mistake of swatching this one early on in the session because as soon as I put it on I wanted to wear it basically forever. Gorgeous!

Indigo Bananas Gods & Monsters is described as a black colorshifting flakie polish. Three coats. There was a bit more of the green shift in person but it was pretty hard to capture in photos.

Indigo Bananas I Feel Pretty is described as a pink glass fleck holo chrome. Two coats, but honestly, I probably could have stopped at one. I wish I could have gotten a shot in the sun of this one (+ Taffeta, Darling?) but it was a nice dreary weekend when these came in (boooo). This is super gorgeous, I don’t have anything like it in my collection!
Indigo Bananas Taffeta, Darling? is described as a purple glass fleck holo chrome. Two coats. This one is just a touch more purple in person.
Indigo Bananas Walk This Way is described as a teal glass fleck that glows in the dark. Three coats. This does dry a little matte so top coat is a necessity.
Indigo Bananas Roll In Ze Hay is described as an indigo glass fleck multichrome that glows in the dark. Three coats, and same as Walk This Way you definitely want to use top coat. This one is waaay more purple in person, my camera wanted to capture it as blue. 🙁 I tried to color edit it but couldn’t get it quite right- the bottle shot is the most accurate.
She also included one of her new cuticle balm scents- blackberry & pomegranate! I’m a big fan of her balms (I’ve reviewed the formula a couple times before) and I really like the new scent! Both the blackberry and pomegranate scents are there without either being overpowering. Very nice!
Overall, I am always blown away by the quality and originality of Indigo Bananas‘ collections and this one is no exception. Along with that, I always appreciate when a popular brand does what they can to keep things in stock at all times rather than creating false scarcity with restock madness (cause Homey Don’t Play Dat. And by homie, I mean me. I don’t play dat).
What about you? Which of these shades is your favorite? Planning to pick any up from this collection? Let me know in the comments!
