One of the brands I’ve been watching really close lately is Reverie Nail Lacquer– her summer collection was incredible and so I was quite excited when she began putting out sneak peeks of her fall collection. I’m super excited to be able to share swatches with you of this awesome collection!
The fall collection consists of six polishes- Dog Days, Lagoon, Bonfire, Tiger Lily, Nightfall and Red Sky At Night and will be available for preorder from Sept. 12th-14th (and regular sale on the 27th). This post is going to be very photo heavy, let’s take a look!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Red Sky At Night is described as a ruby red jelly base featuring tons of bright pink and iridescent glitters. I used three coats (although you could do two if you wanted a squisher look) along with Out The Door + Gelous. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and went on easily, although it is glitter heavy so just make sure you don’t have too much on your brush before applying. I adore this polish, it’s so squishy and gorgeous!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Bonfire is described as a deep blue base with tons of orange glitters and gold flecks. I used three coats along with Out The Door. The formula was good, similar to RSAN, just make sure you don’t have too much glitter on your brush before applying. I was worried when I saw this polish in the bottle that the orange glitters wouldn’t lie down flat but they easily do! I had a tiny one near my fingertip that I had to push down a bit on one nail but that was it. This polish is really unique!
Reverie Nail Lacquer Lagoon is described as a blue-green jelly base with a rainbow of hex and circle glitters, and FIVE-PETAL (so cool!) flower glitters. I used three coats along with Out The Door + Gelous. The formula was fantastic, not too thick or thin and applied easily with almost no fishing- I fished for maybe half of the flowers which is typical for the large shape glitter. This one does have a ton of glitter so I would just recommend making sure your brush isn’t too overloaded before applying. This polish is INCREDIBLE. I may have audibly gasped once I put the last coat on, haha.
Reverie Nail Lacquer Dog Days is described as a pale blue base with lots of bright yellow and blue glitters and orange iridescence. I used 3 coats (but you could get away with two in regular lighting) along with Out The Door + Gelous. The formula was amazing, not too thick or thin and no glitter fishing needed. For all of you who aren’t ready to let go of summer yet, this shade is perfect and I kind of want those orange iridescent glitters in pretty much every polish now.
Reverie Nail Lacquer Nightfall is described as a dark purple with lots of green flecks and shimmer. I used three coats (but you could get away with two in regular lighting) along with Out The Door. The formula was incredible, not too thick or thin and went on entirely smoothly. Hoooooly hell this polish is beautiful. Pictures do NOT do it justice- it’s such a nice soft purple with a subtle holo and then the amazing flecks….ahhh! I can’t even put into words how beautiful this is! I took a video on instagram to show this one in motion.
Reverie Nail Lacquer Tiger Lily is described as a shimmery red-orange. I used three coats along with Out The Door. The formula was wonderful, perfect consistency and applied easily. This was the only one I wasn’t sure I was going to *love* when I saw her previews, but I actually really like it in person! Oranges never look great on me, but this is the perfect tone and so nicely juicy. Very pretty!
In addition to the polishes, she also has released some new scents for her cuticle balm- Pumpkin Roll, Apple Pie, Cinnamon Bun and Cranberry (I think there might be a couple more too, not sure). I was sent a balm in the Apple Pie scent to check out. The balm itself is really nice, it has a consistency sort of in between a hard balm and an oil for me, so it applies nicely without getting everywhere and soaks in pretty quick. The packaging makes it easy to throw in your purse, also! I did a more in-depth review of the balm here. I found the new Apple Pie scent to be perfect, it smells good enough to eat!
Overall, another really fantastic collection from a great brand. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again- with so many new indies out there these days, a brand really has to be truly original and interesting to stand out, and Reverie Nail Lacquer does that for me. These are all wonderful shades that I see myself wearing again during fall and really, any time of the year. I adored her last collection and I feel like she stepped her game up even further for this one. I’m SO excited to see what the future holds for this brand & I absolutely recommend her polishes!
Again, this collection will be available to preorder from September 12th-14th (which is good because the first sale of the Summer collection sold out very quickly! I really appreciate a brand who is willing to change their normal selling model to meet the demands of their fans) and then launches for regular sale on the 27th.
What do you think? Which of these shades is your favorite? Have you tried any polish out from this brand before? Let me know in the comments!
