Hey, guys! A little while ago I shared with you some information & FAQs about the new Beauty Quartet Subscription Box & today I have swatches of the polishes included and a review of the box for you! Before we get into all of that, let’s get the general details of the box out of the way:

What’s included: 4 polishes (one from each brand) along with 4 beauty extras (again, one from each brand)
What kind of extras: Anything from matching accessories to handmade personal care products (cuticle oil, lotions, lip balms, etc), nail art tools, candles, etc.

I am totally a sucker for good packaging, particularly for a themed box like this! The first box is Halloween themed, one of my favorite holidays! Everything in the box came safely and well-packaged. The orange & black crinkle paper was a great touch and put me right in a Halloween mood as soon as I opened it! Check out my unboxing video (complete with box, uh…technical difficulties) here.
Philly Loves Lacquer Amok! (named for this awesome scene from Hocus Pocus) is a glitter topper full of tiny holo glitter and black glitter in multiple shapes (including stars, shreds, hexes, etc.). I used one coat for the below photos over Zoya Dove and with Out The Door top coat. The formula was good, not too thick or thin and most of the glitter came out without having to fish for it. I did fish for the big circles (which I almost always have to do in polishes that use them, so that’s not really a negative), and I did fish for a couple extra stars, but some came out on their own.
Digital Nails Glam Stoker (named in honor of sparkly vampires everywhere) is a gorgeous coppery/champagne gold with tiny microglitter. I used two coats for the below photos along with Out The Door top coat. The formula was perfection, not too thick or thin and applied smoothly. Hoooooooooly crap this polish is amazing. I know it’s Halloween themed, and it will totally work for that, of course, but I think this would also be really pretty during christmas & new years! It’s a perfect ‘fancy party’ polish. I took a video on instagram here to show the sparkle!
Northern Star Polish Spectral Elegance is a beautiful purple with tiny pink and blue glitter and I think possibly purple flecks? Hard to tell, but it’s pretty! I used two coats for the below photos along with Out The Door top coat. The formula was was good, a little on the thick side but manageable and fairly easy to work with. This does dry on the matte side so you want to make sure to use top coat. This is a lighter purple than what my camera wanted to show once it was on my nails- the bottle shot is most accurate.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers Pumpkin Harvest is a reddish-orange jelly. I was told ahead of time that this shade is very sheer, so it’s not so much to be worn alone (I still had VNL at four coats) but great for jelly sandwiches (and probably lead lighting, too! I still need to get around to trying that- I need more sheer jellies, first). I used four coats for the below photos with a coat of Amok in between the top two layers & Out The Door top coat to finish things off. The formula was good, not too thick or thin, very typical jelly formula.
Philly Loves Lacquer– Handcrafted Lip Schmear in Cherry Street! This has a really nice cherry scent that isn’t overpowering and is very nicely moisturizing. I really like this!
Digital Nails– 2 cute ouchless hair ties! One black and glittery and the other mustache-themed!
Northern Star Polish– nail art gems/studs! These were cute and easy to apply.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers– Southern Fancies Maple Pumpkin candle! This is a nice size and smells so good that I want to eat it. Don’t eat it, though. It probably doesn’t taste good. ….probably. I wouldn’t know. *cough* Smells wonderful, though!
Overall, I think this is a super fun & unique box idea at a great price! Remember, this can be pre-ordered starting Sept. 1st at Philly Loves Lacquer’s website here.
Are you planning to order the box? Do you like the idea of including the beauty extras in with a nail polish sub box? Any extras you’re hoping to see in the future? (I’m a cuticle and lip balm junkie, myself, so I’m always down for more of those.) Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
