So, Ellagee is an indie brand that’s been around for a good bit of time that I’ve always wanted to try out and recently I took the plunge after she created some amazing holo glitterbombs. I picked up BOOM! and KACHOW! to share with you today, along with an older shade, Trenzalore. Let’s take a look!
The packaging was really cute and showed that she puts a lot of thought into it- each polish comes in one of these cute purple bags & she also included a business card, magnet & some candy!
BOOM! and KACHOW! (how awesome are those names, by the way?) are quite similar other than their color. Ellagee includes info on four ways they can be worn on her website here. I’m not a huge texture person so I chose to wear these with Out The Door for a smooth, glassy finish (I had planned on showing them without topcoat, too, but totally forgot. Sorry!).
I followed the recommended application of waiting 5 full minutes between coats and found the formulas to be a little on the thick side but manageable and still pretty easy to work with. I had no problem getting enough glitter distribution to make the polish to be opaque within two coats!
Ellagee BOOM! is described as a clear based glitter texture polish with the blingiest silver holographic glitter you’ve ever seen. Two coats. Blogger keeps telling me that blingiest isn’t a real word, but it’s the only word that really captures just how sparkly these two are! I had to take videos of both on instagram.
Ellagee KACHOW! is described as a clear based glitter texture polish with the blingiest gold holographic glitter you’ve ever seen. Two coats. Instagram video here or below!
Ellagee Trenzalore is described as a smokey blue-gray with subtle scattered holo. I used two coats for the below photos along with Out The Door. The formula was great, not too thick or thin and went on smoothly. This is so soft and dusty, I really love these kind of shades.
Overall, I think all three of these are great and I can’t wait to try out the BOOM! and KACHOW! as glitter toppers over creams as well. This was a great first impression of the brand for me, I would definitely recommend them! I’ll have some unreleased shades on the blog in the next couple weeks, so make sure to check back! What do you think? Would you wear any of these shades? Let me know in the comments!
