Hi, everyone! Before we get started, don’t forget about my Blogversary Giveaway! It’s open internationally and includes 30 prize packs, so make sure you’ve entered and gotten your daily entries in!
Last month I participated in The Lacquer Legion for the first time & it was a ton of fun, so I decided to do it again this month! This month’s theme was Holiday, and just like I predictably did flowers for last month’s garden theme, I of course had to do beach nails for holiday. You guys knew what I’d do as soon as you saw the theme, I’m sure! But I just can’t help it, when I think vacation, I think of sun, sand and water!
It was also a great opportunity to review some some cute silver seashells I received from Born Pretty Store! They are so tiny and cute and were really easy to apply, and as long as you don’t knock one off while wearing them, you can re-use them, too! Born Pretty Store offers free worldwide shipping & has a ton of awesome nail art items- use my born pretty store coupon code for 10% off- RUBX31!
I really loved the beach/ocean nails I did a little awhile ago with one of the new KBShimmer holos, so I decided to do something similar! I began with a base of one coat of Zoya Bar (swatched here) and then used a makeup wedge to sponge on a tiny bit of white & Zoya Charla for the water. I also used just a bit of Zoya Muse (swatched here) right at the tip.
I applied the Born Pretty Store Seashells and also some white nail art pearls. I finished everything up with coats of Gelous + Out The Door. I find that’s also the best way to keep these kind of 3D nail art pieces on for at least a good few days- stick them on top of a layer of top coat & then apply another thick layer over them.
|I love how these looked in the sun, especially the ‘sand’!|
If you want to check out everyone else’s design for this theme, check out #LLOnHoliday on instagram and other hashtagable social media- so, pretty much just twitter, because who really uses tags on facebook? Ew.
