Stand Proud was provided for review. The cuticle oils were purchased by me.
Hey, everyone! Over the weekend, I reached 600 followers on bloglovin’, which blows my mind! I’m pretty close to 1,000 on instagram as well. It shocks me that even one person wants to read my ramblings, let alone so many! I appreciate you all and I can’t wait to show you what I have planned for when this blog hits one year!
Anyways, let’s get to it. Model City Polish is quickly becoming one of my favorite indie brands, and today I have a couple of new products from her to share with you! First up is a new polish shade that’s limited edition for summer, Stand Proud! Let’s take a look!
Model City Polish Stand Proud is a clear base blend with red, blue, and silver holographic glitter in various sizes and a splash of red dots, large silver holographic hexes, and tiny silver holographic stars. Here I have one coat of Stand Proud over Zoya Megan, along with Gelous + Out The Door top coats.
The formula was great, not too thick or thin and applied easily with no fishing. This is a super fantastic color both for patriotic holidays and even just in general! The stars are so tiny and cute! I love stars of this size, they don’t stick out as much as the larger ones.
I also thought it’d be fun to see how it looks matte!
On to the next product! Awhile back, I did a quick review of Model City Polish’s cuticle oils, which were previously only available in a nail polish bottle. After you use a good amount of the oil, it gets hard to get to the rest in that kind of packaging, and I’ve definitely almost tipped mine over a number of times, so I was super excited when she announced she’d also be offering her cuticle oils in a nice rollerball bottle!
These cute bottles hold 5ml of product and are made out of hard plastic to be resistant to breaking. This makes them super convenient to just toss in your purse and go! The roller ball also makes application super easy since you can control where you want the oil to go.
The oil itself is really moisturizing, I’ve been using it like crazy! It consists of sweet almond oil, avocado oil enriched with vitamins A, B, C, & E, and fragrance oils. She also introduced a bunch of new summery scents, I had a really hard time narrowing them down so I ended up getting six! Describing scents is not my forte so please bare with me!
|not phallic at all|
Strawberry Jam – This one smells like a sweet strawberry pastry without being overly sweet! Really pleasant!
Ocean Breeze – Immediate favorite! This smells like you’re relaxing on a nice beach with the salt in the air. Love it!
Fresh Cut Grass – Smells exactly like fresh cut grass, although this one wasn’t as pleasant as I had hoped. Would probably pass on this scent next time. I might give this one to Jed since his cuticles are looking real shameful right about now.
Coconut Lime – Fresh, clean and very citrus-y!! Close runner-up for favorite.
Cucumber Melon – This one definitely has a strong fruity scent! I liked it but if you don’t like overly sweet-smelling fruit scents I’d probably pass on this one.
Blooming Jasmine – This one’s your typical fresh floral scent!
Overall, these are really fantastic and will surely get used quickly. Um, I did ‘swatch’ these on my arm though to smell them and after they were all on and the scents sort of mixed together in the air it smelled like a fart, HA! So, uh….I would recommend using one at a time. Which is what you’d do anyways with these. Unless you’re crazy like me. It wasn’t me!!! (Don’t give me any crap about he who smelt it, dealt it…..)
Have you tried out any of Model City Polish’s products yet? Let me know in the comments! And if you haven’t already, don’t forget to enter my KBShimmer giveaway, it ends in a couple days!
