Hi, everyone! I recently came across the fairly new brand Two Gypsies Lacquer (note: their name is now Reverie Nail Lacquer) and fell totally, desperately, lemmingly in love with two of their new spring shades, Tide Pools and Secret Garden.
My boyfriend was awesome enough to buy these for me (a rare treat! I do work (although today will be my last day since tax season is over!) but don’t make much more than my bills so I very rarely get to buy polish these days) along with one of their cuticle balms. Was it worth it? Let’s take a look!
Two Gypsies Lacquer Secret Garden is a squishy forest green jelly polish packed with a pastel rainbow of glitters. I used two coats for the below photos with a top coat of Gelous + Out The Door. The formula was fantastic, not too thick or thin and absolutely packed to the brim with glitter. I love the pink in this!
Two Gypsies Lacquer Tide Pools is a squishy deep blue with a hint of green jelly packed with gold, copper, blue, and green glitters and white stars. I used two coats for the below photos with a top coat of Gelous + Out The Door. The formula was good, a tiny bit on the thick side but absolutely packed with glitter so it was still pretty easy to work with. No fishing required!
As mentioned above, I also picked up the Two Gypsies Lacquer Cuticle Balm in the Honeysuckle scent. It’s also currently available in Cilantro Lime, Passionflower Acai and unscented. I had a hard time choosing because the other two scents were right up my alley as well!
The product comes in a tube and the balm itself is very moisturizing, I really like it. My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is that the consistency of the balm is very soft, which is nice but I don’t think a tube is the best container for it.
When I have a product like this in a tube, I want to roll it up and press it on, but this is so soft that it’s hard to get the desired amount and not too much, and to not get a messy application. I think it would work a lot better in a pot. I would definitely re-purchase it either way, though! In summary: Smellz nice, wurks gud.
It is described in the shop as:
A cross between a balm and an oil. It instantly begins to melt onto your skin upon contact into a healing blend of oils, including maracuja, carrot seed, and more that work wonders to help repair dry skin and damaged cuticles! Our cuticle balm was formulated to be perfect for spring and summer weather using lighter oils so that it helps keep your cuticles moisturized without sitting on top of your skin as many heavier oils do.
CONTAINS: Candelilla wax, shea butter, maracuja oil, carrot seed oil, grapeseed oil, fractionated coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, fragrance oils
Overall, this was a great first impression of the brand for me and it was definitely worth purchasing these. I can’t wait to see what they’ll be coming out with in the future!
