Yay! Jed is back from the phillipines and arrived with many wonderful gifts! Among them was the etude house nail polish I showed on the blog earlier. I decided to try this blue one out first- it is a deep blue with blue & purple glitter. Honestly, I’m not sure if it has an actual name as most of the label is in korean.
So, I am just going by the number #BL601. Application was tricky- the brush is very large and the polish itself was fairly thick- I think I am going to pick up some thinner for the next time I try it out. But it was mostly opaque in 1 coat although I used 2 here. Dry time was actually very quick which was nice. I used the Rock Hard base coat and Seche Vite top coat.
Apologies for the crappy pictures, I didn’t feel up to spending a lot of time on my nails today! My camera also had a bit of a hard time picking up the awesome dark blue and purple- the natural lighting photos are probably the most accurate to the color.

I went inside the house first so that I could film the reaction of our dog when Jed (& his sister) got home after being gone for 2 weeks!
In other awesome news, last night Jed bought me two melmers! I will do a whole post on those once we put them together and I get home to organize everything. I’ll be using it to store both my polish & my makeup. I am considering decorating them with scrapbook paper & modge podge as many other bloggers have done. We’ll see! 🙂
Now I just need to figure out an alternative use for my spice racks which I’ve already nailed to the wall in my bedroom…This is where they are currently set up. Not even 1/3rd of my polish on them in that photo, though.
Maybe I can put picture frames or something in there. I thought about bracelets, too. I’m pretty happy with my current jewelry setup but my bracelet rack does not have space for all of them, so that’s an idea.
I’ve also seen people use them for bathroom products/perfume which is also cute but I like these spinny plastic things I currently use. Plus, the racks are in my bedroom, not my bathroom.
Anyone else have any crazy ideas for spice rack uses? 🙂
