Hey everyone! Have a couple of things to share with you today- my fourth of july manicure and some photos of my nail wheel swatches that I just completed. Let’s take a look!
First off, I want to apologize for the messiness of this manicure- it was not my day. First of all, the white that I used as a base (China Glaze White on White) was the absolute worst. I needed a plain white for the base last minute, not having time to order one online. This was the only one I spotted at Ulta and when I quick googled nails swatches, it looked alright. Well, on the way home I read the actual reviews, and everyone talked about how streaky it was, how the brush dragged, it didn’t self level well, etc. I hoped it was just an exaggeration, but nope. This was pretty bad. Anyway, so I was already irritated by that and then my stamping turned out messy, I still haven’t been able to grab a tiny brush for cleanup so all I have to use are q-tips and…meh. Anyways, enough excuses, onto the finished product!
The red I used was OPI The Thrill Of Brazil and the blue was OPI Yodel Me On My Cell. I used a white base & the sponge gradient technique for the red and blue. I used the konad white polish for stamping both designs. I wanted something that was clearly for the 4th of july, but not “LOOK AT ME I’M A FLAG!!”

In other news, I picked up some swatch wheels so I could more easily see the colors I have currently. I used 2 coats of each, although there are a few polishes where I’d definitely need more than 2 coats on the nail. It’s definitely helpful to be able to look at them all at once and see how they look actually applied! The labeling was tough because of the size, so I truncated the names to be able to fit them. My collection is still small enough that I can easily match them up, once it grows a bit large I might move to the popsicle stick method many bloggers use to keep them straight. A couple of these are Zoya’s labeled but not yet swatched- I am still waiting on those in the mail but wanted to put a spot for it while I was doing the rest.
And hey, what’s your favorite white nail polish? Feel free to comment below! I think I’ll be needing to order something soon because I really doubt I’ll be using the china glaze again. That’s it for now, have a great week everyone!!
