Cover Me! Nail Art Vinyls Review

Press Sample

So, lately I've been dipping my toe more into different kinds of nail art and when Rachelle from Cover Me! Nail Art asked if I'd be willing to try out some of her nail vinyl designs, I jumped at the chance! Vinyls have always been a little scary to me but I'm getting better at using them & it's always fun to be pushed outside of my box a little bit.

I was sent a few two different designs- the chevrons and the french tips. These each come in a large sheet on white vinyl (the number of designs per sheet varies based on the design) with instructions and retail for $5. In addition to nail vinyls, she also sells a variety of water decals. Let's take a look at the designs I created using these!

I first wanted to try out the french tip guides with a glittery funky french manicure. I began with a base of Zoya Margo, waited for it to fully dry, applied the french tip vinyls and then painted on a coat of Zoya Arlo. I finished everything up with a coat of Gelous (to smooth out the glitter) & Out The Door.

Next, I tried out the chevrons! I began with a base of Zoya Ryan and waited for it to dry. I applied the chevron vinyls and on top painted a coat of either Zoya Remy or Zoya Muse. I then removed the vinyls with tweezers and finished everything up with a coat of Out The Door. This turned out a bit more subtle than I wanted to but I really liked how it looked matte!

Overall, these were quite easy to use and are affordable, so I do recommend this brand. I plan to create more designs in the future, too! What do you think of these designs? Let me know in the comments!

Ellagee Villainous Holo-ween Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review!

Ellagee Villainous Holo-ween Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review!

So, if you know anything about me at all, you know I'm a huge Disney fan- ESPECIALLY the villains. Although I went through the princess stage when I was really young, I soon came to really prefer the villians. I mean, they're (typically) campy, fun and their songs are way more fun to sing! So I was crazy excited when Ellagee asked if I'd be willing to check out a few polishes from her new villain-themed collection- um, YES!

Ellagee Villainous Holo-ween Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review!

The Villainous Holo-ween collection consists of eight duos total, each inspired by a disney villain and consisting of a sparkly holo polish & corresponding accent glitter. These are not released yet, but will be very soon! When I opened the package of these up, I may or may not have said the name of each one out loud in the way it was said in the movie, ha. (I was also really sick at the time so I may have been a little loopier than usual.)

And if nothing else, this kind of enabling behavior is why you should totally get these (and yes, I made good on singing like a crazy person while swatching, in case you're wondering):

Names blacked out to protect the innocent enablers.

To save some time since these were pretty similar, the formula on the holos was great, not too thick or thin and applied easily and the formula on the glitters were also great, not overly thick or thin and with a good amount of glitter payoff. I used Out The Door top coat for the photos below. Let's take a look!

The Jafar-inspired Duo

I totally had a crush on this guy. Well, what am I saying, had? <3_<3
Ellagee Whoever Has The Gold Makes The Rules is a beautiful true gold holo- in the bottle it looked like liquid gold to me. Two coats.

Ellagee See How S-S-Snakelike I Can Be is a glitter topper with red, gold and holo hexes in varying sizes. I used one coat here over black and WHTGMTR (I prefer it over the black, I don't really like glitter toppers over holo polishes but I know some people do so I wanted to show it both ways). I have always had such a crush on Jafar. Anyone else? Just me? Oh.

The Ursusla-inspired Duo

I still kind of want to be Ursula when I grow up. Don't crush my dreams!
Ellagee The Importance Of Body Language is a gorgeous blackened purple holo with small flakes. Two coats.

Ellagee Poor Unfortunate Souls is a glitter topper with blue, red and holo hexes in a few different sizes. I used one coat here over black and TIOBL (again, I prefer glitters over cremes and not holos but I'm showing it both ways). I'm not too proud to admit that when I pulled this one out of it's packaging I audibly gasped and said, "Perfect!". I love Ursula, and I love this polish!

Overall, a really wonderful second impression from a brand who puts out some great, unique stuff. I definitely recommend picking some of these up! Which of these is your favorite? Who was YOUR all time favorite disney villain? Let me know in the comments!
